PADDLEBOARDING

There is a reason why Paddle Boarding (SUP) is the fastest growing water sport and that’s because it is great fun and very accessible; you can do this whatever your age, weight or water experience. It is the perfect group activity but also an amazing way to just switch off and relax as well as increasing your core strength and general fitness.

Our courses run in the sheltered, calm waters in the channels in front of our centre most days of the week but if you can’t find a group class to suit you then grab some friends and book a private session at time and date to suit you.

Our Intro session is the perfect introduction to this sport and is for those who have never tried paddleboarding before. This hour long lesson teaches the basic techniques and theory to get you on your feet and out on the water safely.

What’s included: Board & Paddle & Buoyancy Aid
Also available to Hire: Wetsuits
When: Every day at 11:45 am
You might want to bring: A hat if it is very sunny or very cold, sunglasses on a string, suncream, some water to keep hydrated. If you have wetsuit boots or neoprene beach shoes please bring them to wear or you can borrow some of ours.
Note: This is a group lesson of up to 5 adults and not suitable for those under 14. (see Youth or private sessions for alternatives).

This 2 hour lesson follows the BSUPA Ready to Ride course and gives you the ability and confidence to go off exploring on your own. You will be given an introduction to how the weather and environment affects you, how to carry the board and paddle, paddling technique, different types of turns, self rescue, how to fall safely as well as how to plan expeditions. When you are able to do all the above, you will have gained your BSUPA level 1 certificate meaning you can hire boards and join our social evenings.

Note: This is a group lesson of up to 5 adults and not suitable for children under the age of 14 (see Youth Sessions).

It’s not about teaching although our instructors will be happy to give you tips but just getting out on the water for a breather. Bring your own kit or hire some of ours.

We run the regular Boards, Beers & Bubbles Friday night session from June onwards. We also run ad-hoc sessions throughout the season.
